Born in Boulder, Colorado to the renowned pianist Melinda Baird, Shaundra began extensive study of music at a young age. Over the past twenty years, she has had the opportunity to study with acclaimed violinists Alex Kerr, Igor and Vesna Gruppmann, Elisabeth Adkins and Monte Belknap. She earned her degree in violin performance from Brigham Young University, where she performed and toured with the BYU Philharmonic and Chamber Orchestras. She has also performed as part of string quartets and as an invited soloist.

Shaundra currently resides in Washington DC with her husband and two children. She is the associate concert master for the Piedmont Symphony Orchestra and performs with the Fairfax Symphony Orchestra and the Celebrated String Quartet.

Shaundra is an experienced violin teacher. In addition to teaching privately, she was a visiting faculty member at the Juarez Academy in Mexico where she assisted in the design of the string program and coached ensembles. She has studied methods to improve the quality of violin instruction and participated in the development of The Violin Practice System (www.theviolinsite.com).
